RAPS - REACTION - AGILITY - POWER - STRENGTH

A NATIONAL ATHLETIC ASSESSMENT & COLLEGIATE RECRUITMENT EVALUATION TOOL

Training courses in the RAPS testing procedure are coming soon to Sport Medics

The RAPS Score:
RAPSRAPS testing looks at an athlete's ability to coordinate power and explosion, their ability to change direction, speed, endurance and core strength. There are 7 tests for each sport that assess the athleticism of an individual specific to the demands of that sport. With the results from these tests a RAPS score is established.

Athletes from 8-12years old are given a percentile ranking based on that age group while 13-18 year old athletes are given a percentile ranking which compares them to collegiate and high school athletes from across the country.

By ranking the older athletes in this manner the younger athletes (13-15 year olds) can see just how much work they need to do in order to measure up against the nation's best. Remember the RAPS rating tests an athlete's ability, but cannot however measure his/her heart and desire.

Some athletes have shown great athleticism but did not have the heart to take that athleticism to another level. The RAPS score simply lets an athlete know how hard they need to work in order to get to the next level.

An example of the RAPS ratings are as follows:
